Welcome, Eris!!
We were very excited on Saturday, January 15th, when my sister sent us a text with a very special picture… I had a new niece, and my babies had a brand new cousin to play with (eventually!).
We’ve been waiting a very long time for baby Eris Reign to come join us, and now she’s here. All 5 pounds, 9 ounces and 19.5 inches of her. Yes, she is a pretty tiny baby for being born at almost 39 weeks. Luckily, we had a couple of outfits from our premie girl born 5 years ago, and she got some other premie hand-me-downs from my sister-in-law so she is set on clothes for now.
No one thought Eris would be this tiny. In the fall while going through stacks of baby toys and ‘stuff’ my sister and I found some premie clothes. ‘Won’t be needing those,’ my sister said and away they were stacked! Whoops… we should have kept those out, because with 6 plus inches of snow on the ground, it may be awhile before we journey out to the land to pick them up!!
Congratulations to my sister for her darling tiny girl!! I hope you’ve been getting your budget ready for what BIG expenses will come with the birth of a child!
She’s already experienced the HUGE cost of storing cord blood and umbilical cord tissue. I’ll write a post on my views of this later.
