Declutter- Inbox

I decided this is a great week to finally post this! I follow a lot of blogs. I use the term ‘follow’ rather loosely. I have signed up to have a lot of blogs delivered to my inbox for one reason or another over the last year. I have not been online much over the last week and a half due to my daughter’s injury. My inbox is bursting with wonderful blog posts to read.

I am at the point where I have been too distracted to even attempt to keep up with any of them. I’m also too busy with two classes this semester, kids, spring, and everything that goes into being a Mommy and Wife to keep up with them all.

Trying to complete the Declutter Challenge with the physical items in my life has kind of made me realize I need to get rid of the social media clutter in my life as well, as you can see in my Declutter Twitter post.

I could spend hours every day looking at great blogs. However, I work a full-time job, go to school, and have two kids to try to keep up with. Not to mention the housework that comes along with being a parent. (I could follow my kids around all day picking up after them and our house would still be a disaster!)

So- it is time to get rid of some of the clutter. At least for now and free up some of my ‘free’ time. Decluttering my Twitter Feed was easier because I followed back everyone that followed me. It was pretty easy to see the ‘spam’ people who were following me and ‘unfollow’ them.

The blogging world is completely different. Every blog I followed was for a reason. Every blog I follow has some nugget of awesome information that I wanted at some point. Of course, I won’t be getting rid of every blog I follow, but hopefully the majority of them.

Also- somehow along the way I got signed up for some shopping site’s like Carter’s and OshKosh B’gosh- though I’ve never bought anything from either of those. So the days of mindless deleting are over- unsubscribe and I won’t have to waste my time deleting!

I have unsubscribed to 20 feeds. 20 less things delivered to my inbox every day. 20 less things to mindlessly delete!

Are you curious about who I am continuing to follow?

Little People Wealth- If you are getting started with coupons, this is probably the best blog to start with. She does simple CVS and Walgreen’s posts that walk you through the Drug Store couponing game.

Wild For Wags- If you live near Walgreen’s this is the most comprehensive Walgreen’s guide to couponing and Register Rewards that I’ve found. This is an excellent blog that gives you insights on special ‘hidden’ deals that can be found at Walgreen’s.

Penniless Parenting- I love the awesome ideas that can be found on this page. Every time I go to her page I find a new way to save money- like by reusing workbooks.

Girl with the Red Balloon- I really love ‘Red’s’ take on life. She reminds me of myself ten years ago. I love reading about her money issues.

Thrifty and Frugal Living- I love all the giveaways she has. I’ve won a couple, which makes me love her page even MORE!

Raising my 5 Sons- Is an awesome giveaway blog.

Ultimate Money Blog- This is a personal finance blog that I enjoy reading. It is good to know other people sometimes debate the same things I do!

Out of Debt Again- This is a personal finance blog that gives me hope that we can be debt free (again) as well. It is also interesting because she lives in Arizona and some of the necessities there aren’t actually necessities here- like air conditioning in the summer months.

First Gen American- Sandy has some really great personal finance posts, not to mention her fun ‘Babci says’ posts. This is a link to the Best of First Gen American.

Green Life- I will confess I rarely read this one, but I am not about to delete it. I will be using this blog more when I get into the nitty gritty details of building our house. I want it to be as ‘green’ as possible.

Coping with Frugality- We too are trying to cope with frugality- so I love the name of this blog. It is also nice to see other people trying to cope- though honestly, we aren’t doing too well.

I also want to give a big THANK YOU to the following blog owners for visiting my site and commenting on my posts. I have found all of these blogs through link love editions. They all have some really great posts- and I appreciate that they have looked at my blog and taken time to comment on one or two of my posts.

What are some of your favorite blogs?  Have you noticed that lately you need to unplug from social media a little bit?

I don’t know if I found your blog first or if you found mine, but I truly enjoy your comments and articles. It does get tough to stay connected with everyone, but turning off the computer is definitely a good thing at times. Life can pass you by while you’re living it virtually instead of live and in person.

      Sandy-
I love this comment- especially ‘life can pass you by while you’re living it virtually instead of live and in person.’
      Fantastic quote. :-)
