Budget time?

I can’t decide if it is too early to start thinking about the 2012 budget or not. Laura over at Move to Portugal has already started working toward her 2012 budget.

I’m not excited to be doing another budget in the duplex. I was hoping to be building by now, or hurriedly planning a spring build. BUT Hubby and I talked and with the unstable economy (still) we thought it would be better to try to pay the land mortgage down so we would have a smaller home loan. Also, this gives us time to pay off MORE of our other outstanding debt.

I’ve been playing with numbers and trying to figure out what would be good budget goals for our debt elimination, savings goals and mortgage elimination. Hubby has also thrown in that he wants to take a trip to Colorado over the summer. We are trying to come up with a realistic budget for the trip.

Hopefully, I will be posting more about our 2012 budget (well I HAVE to in the next month and a half because 2011 is almost over!!)

So- is November too early to start thinking about the January budget? Or is it not soon enough?
